Dear Church,
In times of chaos, God’s people need to gather. For most of you, this Lord’s Day (Sunday), that will mean online and in homes (if at all). With the local wildfires, many of us cannot and should not attend a live, outdoor gathering. Please know your pastors are praying for you, your health, and your property, along with praying for our firefighters.
But a number of you will sense a need to come to the church at 9:00 or 11:00 for a time of prayer, worship, and the word. You might be hurting, fearful, confused, or stressed and in need of the body of Christ and pastoral care. You might simply need to get your eyes on God. We don’t want to abandon you. For you, a small number of Calvary Monterey pastors will be available to host church services. I have prepared a special message from Acts 27 called "When Hope Is Abandoned." Please take your health and all current weather conditions into account, and pay attention to calvary.com for any last minute updates.
Thank you for being the church during this season. We have heard many stories of loving service from members of this church to others. Thank you. The Lord sees your sacrifice and love. Let’s get through this together.
In Christ, Nate
