Sometimes God's people must take a risk.
Consider Timothy (Acts 16:1-5). Paul and Barnabas were no longer a team. So Paul needed a new ministry companion and trainee. He went to Timothy's hometown and heard about the young man. He overflowed with potential.
Paul invited Timothy to accompany him. He put steep requirements upon Timothy's life. The demands were high. And Timothy left all and followed this brand new path that God had laid before him.
Imagine the risk, the adventure. Imagine the voices saying, "Don't go. There are no assurances. This makes no sense. This is crazy. That future is so uncertain."
But Timothy left with Paul, and they brought the gospel to European soil. They traipsed all over the continent, preaching Christ and establishing Christ's church.
As each journey unfolded, when he became pastor of the great Ephesian church, and when he held Paul's letters in his hands, Timothy must have thought, "I am so glad I took the risk God placed before me." His small decision of faith led to other great opportunities because he took a risk.
What risk is God placing before you? Let us become a people who step out in faith with God. Let's go with God into the great adventure he has for us.
