In our last study in the Book of Exodus, we saw God begin the process of calling Moses to be the figurehead who would be the deliverer, the prophet, the instrument that God would use to deliver the people of Israel from their slavery in Egypt. They of course had grown in Egypt over a number of years, over 400 years and had gone there originally as a small family with favor from pharaoh because of Joseph and the good success and ministry that he had executed as the right-hand man of pharaoh, but Exodus tells us that a day came when a pharaoh arose who did not know Joseph.

At the close of Exodus chapter two, we were told that God saw Israel's distress. In fact, we were told that God heard their distress and that God saw their distress and that God was willing to come down and deal with their distress. Exodus 2:25, closed that distress of Israel with a statement, "God saw the people of Israel and God knew." With that, we're set up for the events of Exodus chapter three, that God has seen the difficulty of the people of Israel. He's seen them in their slavery in Egypt, and He's seen that they are now subjected to a Pharaoh who's forgotten Joseph who came before, and He now is going to move on their behalf.

Hey everyone. Welcome to our through the Bible journey. And today we're in Genesis chapter 49. As we conclude our study through the book of Genesis with this teaching chapter 49 and of course, chapter 50. It's good to remember that the book of Genesis began with life. God created, God spoke life into existence, no random accident, no chance, but a definite designer and God being the first cause the one who made all that is, and the one who is uncaused, the one who is eternal and has never not been in existence.

In the passage before us, Jesus cursed a fig tree and overturned tables. These are abnormal behaviors by Jesus. When we consider the fig tree, we are perplexed. Jesus did not customarily use miraculous power in destructive ways, but in ways that led to healing, feeding, deliverance, and resurrection. Jesus was about giving life.

In Genesis chapter 11, the citizens of Babel said, “Come let us build a tower to make a name for ourselves.”
You see when you go to work to build a name for God, whether it’s through your character or the things your company is building and working on it and it doesn’t just have to be nonprofit charitable kinds of work. No, it can be good things that you are producing for your community, goods services that you were offering for your world, but when you do it for your own name, for your own vanity, you’ve ruined work.
The Never Ending Empire
There is a nation, a kingdom, a empire that will stand forever. Daniel saw it through a dream that King Nebuchadnezzar had thousands of years ago. In the dream there was a statue that had a gold head, chest and arms of silver, and feet of iron mixed with clay. Daniel interpreted the dream to represent four kingdoms, the Babylonian empire, the Persian empire, the Grecian empire, and the Roman Empire. In the vision there was a stone that destroyed the entire statue.
